The short stop here was such a great combination of relaxation and BIG food with great company. Danny and Courtney live in an unpronounceable neighborhood which just so happens to have stunning views, right at the NY skyline. Danny picked me up from Newark and was the perfect host and Courtney hostess with-the-mostest for my quick stop - Mama Debbie you be proud....

Food was really the the name of the game and we managed to go through a staggering amount in 24hrs! A yummy small Thai place, Mexican with views of the city - http://www.loscharritos.com/mobile/elcharro.html, the worlds biggest omelette I've ever seen at a pancake house and scrummy pizza at Anthony's.

Danny picked me up from Newark and we immediately picked up Court and headed to the Thai place. Despite the rain, my wish was to visit a roof top bar. We headed out on the ferry. My attempts and describing the other "ferry across the Mersey' I think were lost on such a youngun' as Danny - Google the band 'The Searchers' era early 60's for the tune. In short order, we were happily sipping cocktails at the Press Lounge https://www.thepresslounge.com/ it's exactly how I pictured a roof top bat in NY - sweeping views of the city and river, twinkling lights as darkness fell. Not exactly dressed for NY bar hopping, but I felt perfectly comfortable.

Back across the river to meet up with Courtney and headed to a Mexican with fab views of the city. They made the guac tableside in these cool pestle and mortars, unpretentious margaritas and a queso to die for. Stuffed and happy.

Next morning was the GIANT omelette place - can't remember the name, but you can see the pics. A perfectly lazy, rainy day and the weather cleared up just as the sun was going down and we were heading off to JFK.

Thank you bunches to Danny & Courtney.

Next stop - Rome.
